Una delle applicazioni più intuitive, semplici da utilizzare e disponibile completamente in italiano è senz'altro Teamviewer. Sviluppato per piattaforme Mac OS X, Windows, Linux, una volta installato sul proprio computer presenta una finestra a due colonne: la prima contenente ID e password da comunicare o inserire nell'altro terminale per condividere il proprio desktop; la seconda contenente un campo nel quale inserire l'ID dell'altro computer nel caso si volesse visualizzare e gestire il desktop di un computer remoto.

ID e password personali vengono ovviamente aggiornate e cambiate all'avvio di ogni nuova sessione: nel caso in cui si volesse mantenere un accesso continuo ad una determinata macchina senza dover ogni volta ripristinare le credenziali è sufficiente premere in basso a destra della schermata il pulsante "Lista partner" e spuntare la voce "Memorizza profilo utente". Una volta effettuata la connessione, è possibile comunicare con il computer remoto grazie al servizio di chat integrato, per aiutare ad esempio un amico a risolvere qualche difficoltà informatica, o semplicemente per controllare il proprio computer che si trova a casa o dall'altra parte del mondo, interagendo con la sensazione di essere seduti davanti alla propria scrivania. L'applicazione non richiede alcun intervento sul firewall di sistema o sul router.

Temviewer è scaricabile gratuitamente per utilizzi non commerciali nella sezione "Download" del sito ufficiale. Sono inoltre disponibili tre versioni commerciali, acquistabili dalla sezione "Shop". Per i possessori di iPhone e iPod Touch è disponibile una versione gratuita e una versione a pagamento per utilizzo commerciale, entrambe scaricabili direttamente dall'App Store (richiede iOS 2.2.1 o successivo).
